From the Desk of the High School Principal... At Waterloo High School, we strive for excellence in scholarship and character. We celebrate and care about each other by being respectful, honest, kind, and fair. We give our best inside and outside the classroom. This is who we are, even when no one is watching.
Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year. Our mission, as always, is to educate your children to be successful citizens in an ever changing world. This mission requires the partnership of educators, parents, students and community. Your student's success is a direct result of your level of involvement in their education. Talk to your children about school; be aware of what they are doing academically and socially. Stress to them the importance of doing their best every day.
We offer many extracurricular activities for your children to participate in. Encourage your student to join a club, a sports team or run for class office, and make high school more than classes and homework.
The Ninth Grade Academy is in its second year and we expect continued success. The high school is adding an "advisement" period to our day this year that will allow students and teachers to meet daily in a small group to work on study skills, communication, character education and career planning. Each teacher will have a group of students, from the same grade, that will meet daily for the year.
Let's work together to make this year the best ever. Best wishes for a great school year!
