Welcome to LaFayette! Our mission at LaFayette is to provide a safe, nuturing, loving environment that fosters self-esteem, is conducive to learning, and prepares students to be successful for their life in and beyond the classroom walls.

For the THIRD YEAR in a row LaFayette Intermediate has been recognized by Commissioner Mills as a High Performing/Gap Closing School. The staff is a team of dedicated educators who are committed to standards of excellence in aca­demics as well as being people of good character.

We are very proud of our school, our present and former students, and our com­munity. We work collaboratively to provide significant learning opportunities de-signed to stimulate creativity, problem-solving, and intellectual growth.

Parents play a vital role in the educational success of their child. We value parent participation and hope you will consider being a classroom volunteer, helper at after-school activities, and/or chaperone on field trips. Parents are always welcome to join us on Monday mornings at 9:20 for our weekly gathering. We celebrate birthdays, recognize students for outstanding accomplishments, hear a lesson presented by the principal, or watch students perform for their peers.

The safety of our students is of utmost importance. Please be aware that you will need to enter through the main office door and sign in when visiting LaFayette. We ask that you drive carefully and slowly on and around the school grounds. Our rules are in place for the safety of our most valuable assets: your children.

*Students must be signed out at the Main Office when they are picked up by parents or other authorized adults. Students who are signed out at the Main Office by their parent/guardian will be announced @ 3:23 pm. Parents/guardians are to wait in the cafeteria until 3:25 pm.
