Scholarship Information

Scholarships
Students will be emailed all scholarships (PDF) to their school address. Scholarships will also be emailed to parents/guardians, given to senior classroom teachers and placed on the district website. Hard copies are in the counseling office. Please email Mrs. Allen at terri.allen@waterloocsd.org for transcript request.
Please read each scholarship carefully.
Thomas O. Atkinson Memorial Scholarship (deadline April 22)
Considerations for the award is given to a student pursuing a career in any of the following:
- The technologies
- Conservation
- science
- Electronics
- Environmental science
- Attending Alfred State College
Applications in the Counseling Office
Waterloo Education Association ( May 3)
- Waterloo Education Scholarship (2) of $1200.00 each with a priority being given, but not necessarily, to students who intend to major in education
- Michael DeRaddo Memorial Scholarship of $500.00 to be given to a student majoring in the nursing, medical or engineering fields
- Nancy Hilimire Memorial Scholarship of $500.00 to be given to a student majoring in elementary education
- Michael Osowski Memorial Scholarship of $250.00 to be given to a student who will attend a four year college for music or the performing arts, demonstrates a financial need, and displays a zest for life and mankind
Karen L. Adler-Hoven Scholarship
- Senior with a B average who shows potential, a financial need and will be attending a local community college
- $1,000 Scholarship

Eisenhower College Alumni Association (deadline June 1)
The Eisenhower College Alumni Association is pleased to announce its 2022 scholarship. This contest, which is open to all high school seniors bound for college, awards up to $5000 to assist with college tuition and related expenses for the fall 2022 term. Application can be found in the counseling office. Students must mail application by June 1.
New York District Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship Application
The NY District Foundation and The NY District of Kiwanis International will be awarding $1000 scholarships to graduating High School Seniors who are entering College or Trade School September 2022.

Award of the scholarship will be given on the basis of student performance in academics, service to the community which reflects good citizenship and need. Although preference will be given to Veterans or children of Veterans, a parent’s status as a Veteran or membership in the American Legion is not a requirement. Applications are available in the counseling office.
Seventh District Sons of the American Legion Quentin Smith Senior Memorial Scholarship
Deadline postmarked by May 1
- Candidate must be in their senior year of high school
- Applications are to be mailed to the scholarship committee chair
- Counselor must certify each applications

NY Animal Agriculture Coalition (NYAAC) Scholarship 2022
- Two $500 scholarships to New York residents who will be actively engaged in a college education for Fall 2022
- Applicants must be majoring in an academic program related to Agriculture Education, Agriculture Communications, Agricultural Business and/or Animal Science

Seneca County American Legion Scholarship (student must mail completed application by May 1)
Award of the scholarship will be given on the basis of student performance in academics, service to the community which reflects good citizenship and need. Orville Cook Scholarship
The scholarships will be awarded based on the language of the Cook Scholarship trust agreement, which governs the intent of the funds to be disbursed. In summary, the selection of the recipients will be based on the following criteria/language of the trust:

Students pursuing a higher education who graduate of any high school located in Seneca County, NY and who without such aid would not be able to pursue higher education
- Character of the student
- Motivation of the student
- The scholastic record of the student
Applications can be found in the Counseling office and must be returned to the Counseling Office by April 19, 2022
School Administrators Association of New York State, Region 11 College Scholarship Award
SAANYS is proud to announce its annual College Scholarship Award Program. Graduation seniors are urged to write a 500 hundred-word essay on the following topic:
“A School Administrator Who Has Made a Difference in My Life”
Deadline Wednesday April 15

Architectural Scholarship (application attached and copies in the counseling office)
o Applicant must be a resident of any of the seven (7) counties, or member-firm areas served by AIA Rochester.
o Applicants must be accepted and enrolled in an architecture college program for the Fall 2022 academic term. Preference will be given to students in a NAAB accredited degree program. All scholarship monies must be used towards school expenses.
o Preference will be given to members of communities historically underrepresented in the field of architecture.

The New York Grand Lodge Foundation Scholarship (mailed deadline March 31)
The New York Grand Lodge of the Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America announce the 2022 scholarship and grant program for graduating High School Seniors.
Eligibility
Applicant must be of Italian descent and resident of New York State. Undergraduate and graduate awards are presented to high school or college students who will begin full time study for the fall academic term of the year their application is eligible to apply for the competition. The scholarships awards are based on academic excellence and service. Students must have an average of 85%.

Seneca County Children’s Committee (deadline April 22)
Students pursuing any type of higher education, including trade schools, beauty schools, business schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges, full-time, may apply for a scholarship.

Student must mail completed application in by Friday, April 22. Complete application in the counseling office.
Hearing Loss Scholarship Information
Deadline postmark by April 15, 2022. HLAA Rochester Chapter is offering a $1,000.scholarship, awarded to a Greater Rochester area High School Senior with a Hearing Loss pursuing a degree from a college, vocational training, or other postsecondary school. The James H. Rice Memorial Scholarship (two scholarships awarded in the amount of $1,000)
The James H. Rice Memorial Scholarship offers financial assistance and recognition to high school seniors in the counties of Ontario, Seneca and Yates.
Requirements:
- 2022 graduate
- 87 numerical average
- Completed application
- 2 letters of reference

Zonta Club of Geneva 2022 Memorial Fund Scholarship (Deadline March 28, 2022)
• Any female senior enrolled in a full or part time degree-seeking program.
• Must demonstrate goals and ideals similar to those stated in Zonta’s objectives.

The MMB Accounting Diversity Scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to minority students seeking to pursue a career in accounting, as this field has been historically underrepresented by the minority community.
