The Tigers defeated Putnam Valley 58-48 in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B Championship game on Saturday at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy to earn the first state championship in a team sport in school history.
Community members lined the streets of Waterloo on Sunday as the team was escorted by several police and fire vehicles along the parade route.
Team members are: Morgan Caraballo, Gwyn Panek, Natalie DiSanto, Jazzmyn Lewis, Addison Bree, Kamryn Bennett, Katelyn VanNostrand, Emma Ansuini, Tangel Williams, Juliana Pehrson, Maci Mueller, Logan Amidon, Davonti'a Loucks, Khia Moody, McKenzie Scutt and Hannah Harris.
The team is coached by Mike Bree. Assistant coaches are Keisha Bree, Jose Caraballo, Ethan Pettingill and Jim Panek.
The Tigers (26-1) will play in the Federation Tournament of Champions at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Albany.
The team is grateful for all of the support that it has received from the community this season and throughout the years.
Way to go Waterloo!
