LaFayette Intermediate School Inducts 45 Students Into National Elementary Honor Society

The LaFayette Intermediate School Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) inducted 45 new members the evening of March 10 in the school gymnasium before a crowd of proud parents, family members, friends, and teachers.

Fourth and fifth grade students inducted into the NEHS must consistently demonstrate the four pillars of scholarship, responsibility, service, and leadership. Each student must also write an essay sharing how they would improve the Waterloo community, which is then reviewed by a panel of LaFayette teachers.

The induction ceremony included remarks from Ms. Molly Lahr, LaFayette principal; Mrs. Paula Thomas, NEHS co-adviser; Ms. Catherine Rieck, NEHS co-adviser; and Anna Olsowske, president of the Waterloo High School Chapter of the National Honor Society.
