Twin Sisters Anna and Rachel Olsowske Named Valedictorian and Salutatorian of Waterloo CSD Class of 2026

Waterloo High School seniors Anna Olsowske and Rachel Olsowske are the definition of devoted sisters. Not only are they devoted to each other; they are devoted to success in academics, student life, and on the soccer field.

“I think we're definitely closer than most siblings,” says Anna (left). “I hear about how other siblings don’t get along, but that has never defined us.”

“If anything, we push one another to strive for greatness,” says Rachel (right). “It makes us both better.”

Anna and Rachel have pushed each other to the highest of heights, as they were recently named valedictorian and salutatorian respectively of the Waterloo High School Class of 2026. Anna will graduate with a GPA of 100.09, and Rachel will graduate with a GPA of 97.48.

Beyond their shared academic success, Anna and Rachel are also largely involved in the same activities at Waterloo CSD. Both have been inducted into the National Honor Society, play on the girls varsity soccer team, and are involved with student council and varsity club. Anna also serves as the student representative on the Waterloo CSD Board of Education.

After graduation, Anna will be attending Daemen University to pursue its five-year direct entry physician assistant program. Rachel will attend Nazareth University to pursue its five-year occupational therapy program.

Both Anna and Rachel credit the teachers and Waterloo community for being integral to their success. They also cited being named valedictorian and salutatorian as their greatest accomplishment in their time at Waterloo CSD.

“We’ve both strived for this for so many years,” says Rachel. “It means a lot to be in this position.”
