Waterloo Middle School Inducts 15 Into National Junior Honor Society

The Waterloo Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) inducted 15 new members into its ranks on April 20 in the Waterloo High School Auditorium. Students inducted into the NJHS must consistently model five key pillars with their words and actions: scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

This year’s inductees are Kinsley Bree, Olivia Despaw, Emily DeWaela, Alexis Godley, Grayden Guy, Brayden Hubbard, Olivia Laird, Kelsey Marquart, Brynn Moody, Aliyah Parshall, Owen Passalacqua, Brielle Robinson, Leah Sessler, Averie Smith, and Carley Smith.

The induction ceremony featured speeches from current National Junior Honor Society members and a keynote address from Mrs. Kris McGuane, who serves as the advisor to the Waterloo CSD chapter of the National Honor Society.

“Your potential is not measured by what you've already achieved,” McGuane shared with the new members of NJHS. “It's measured by what you choose to do next. Tonight is not a finish line. It's a starting point. Being part of this organization means you are now held to an even higher standard.”

The Waterloo Middle School chapter of NJHS is advised by Mr. Joe DeMetro & Mr. Dylan Walawender.
