Waterloo Middle School Students Give Presentation on Happenings in the Classroom

Six students at Waterloo Middle School took center stage during the Waterloo School Board meeting on April 23, and presented about some of the cool things they have been up to.

Eight graders Bentley Wheeler and Karter Freeman are exploring their love of hip-hop by creating a rap backing track for their music class. Seventh grader Savannah Dalere-Coryell presented about a virtual trip to Mexico City that Spanish students are creating to share the wonders of travel in a unique and accessible way. Sixth graders Kelsey Bailey and Leah Sessler are doing an interactive social studies project within the video game Minecraft.

Sixth grader Leah Sessler and eight grader Jason Leisenring also gave a presentation about the Advisement Cup, created by the Middle School Respect Team as a friendly competition that promotes team building and school pride among all the students of the middle school.

Through their work as individual students and as a community, our Waterloo Middle Schoolers are learning values and skills they can carry with them into high school and beyond.
