Tri-M Music Honor Society Welcomes New Members
The Waterloo High School chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society inducted 18 new members during a ceremony on Nov. 2 at Waterloo High School.
The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy. More than 84,000 students in 50 states and 15 countries participate in Tri-M’s 2,100 chapters.
Students accepted into Tri-M must perform in a musical ensemble, have an overall grade point average of at least 80 percent, maintain a GPA of 90 percent in their music classes and complete a service project related to music.
The new members include: Mia Arar, Bergren Aunkst-Park, Brigit Bowman, Violet Enslow, Savannah Fish, Jacob Griffiths, Nicole Harris, Olivia Howard, Kayleigh Hubbard, Marina Lyon, Olivia Lyon, Kaitlyn Mclaughlin, Stephen Mumford, Nathan Robson, Ace Rogers, Jaylyn Ticconi, Garett Tuuri and Kaitlin Wilson.
Lorraine Jones, retired Waterloo Middle School Band Teacher was honored as an Honorary Tri-M Life Member.
Officers for the Waterloo High School Tri-M chapter are: Noelle Gillotti (President), Dylan Bienvenue (Vice President), Amelia Burm (Secretary), Aryanna Mateo (Treasurer) and Daniel Acquilano (Historian). Other continuing members include: Miles Gray, Christopher Hayden, Lily Mager, Fredrick Saracino, Mckenzie Scutt, Kaleb Swartley, Abigail Tyler and Jae Wu.
Mr. Ryan McKenna is the club adviser.
