Update on School Feeding Programs

Dear Waterloo Families,
We are happy to announce that the USDA has extended a program allowing us to offer free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled Waterloo Central Schools ‘students. Your student(s) will be able to eat meals at no cost to you beginning on Tuesday, September 8th, 2020. This program is scheduled to run until December 31st, 2020 or until Federal money is no longer available, whichever is sooner. In the event the free emergency meal program ends, students will immediately transition back to either paid free or reduced status. Information from State and Federal agencies are ever-changing. We will be posting updates to our website during this extremely fluid situation.
Please note that this program is temporary so families that have not reapplied for free and reduced lunches will still need to turn in an application. Completing this form guarantees that when this temporary program ends, your child will still receive free or reduced meals if they qualify. It also ensures that our school district remains eligible for certain federal grants and funds that benefit our students.
Milk will still be available for purchase if you bring lunch from home, and a la carte sales at the middle school and high school will be phased in during the first month of school.
If you have any questions, please call the food service office at 315-539-1556
Sincerely,
Brian Corey, School Lunch Director
