October 16th Message from Superintendent Bavis

Waterloo Crest

Dear Waterloo Families,

Late yesterday, October 15, 2020, the District was made aware that two District staff members from the Waterloo Middle School / Waterloo High School have been placed in quarantine per the guidance of our local Department of Health (DOH). This was done as a precautionary measure and follows the directives of the New York State DOH when there is a possibility of exposure. Each case does not involve our District and requires no additional action on behalf of the District or our families. This will not impact our students’ instruction, athletics, or extracurricular activities. At this time, we are unaware of any confirmed Covid-19 cases related to this potential exposure, within our school community.

As this is a matter of staff confidentiality and privacy, we are unable to share specifics regarding this matter. However, I want to assure you that we will continue to be proactive and work in collaboration with the DOH. If the DOH indicates further action at the district level, we will communicate that directly with you.

We ask that all families continue to help prevent the spread of the virus by encouraging students to wear a mask, wash their hands, and practice social distancing. Please contact your medical provider or the Department of Health if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Take care and stay well.

Sincerely,
Terri Bavis
