Information regarding Yellow Zone Testing
November 24th, 2020
Dear Waterloo Families,
Attached, you will find information regarding yellow zone testing, should Governor Cuomo and our Seneca County Health Department designate our school district a yellow zone.
Today, our district administrative team and several of our school nurses will participate in training which will allow us to test within our schools. Attached, please find a letter regarding parental consent for testing, a frequently asked questions document, and a power point slide presentation with information that will be shared on December 1, 2020 during a community zoom meeting.
We have planned a community zoom meeting on December 1, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. The first portion of the meeting will be about our proposed Capital Project, which will go to the community for a vote on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Voting will take place at the District Offices from 12:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. The second part of the meeting will be to review the yellow zone power point and to answer any questions you may have about testing in our schools. The deadline to submit parental consent is November 30, 2020, so we are prepared should we be designated a yellow zone upon our return to school after Thanksgiving. We want to be prepared to test should it be necessary upon return from the break. We only have two weeks to complete the mandatory testing in order to keep our doors open and our students in our hybrid learning model including in person learning. Without the required testing, we would have to move all students to fully remote instruction.
Parental consent to test can also be sent after December 1st. I want to give parents an opportunity to ask questions, if there are any, after reviewing the documents attached to this message. The presentation deck and frequently asked questions document will also be posted to our website.
Thank you very much for your time.
