Return to 5 Day in-person learning

Monday, April 26th, 2021

Dear Waterloo Families,

Thank you to each of you who participated in the community meeting that we hosted on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, and the survey that was sent to all families on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, last week.

The results of the survey have been compiled and will be posted on our Waterloo Central School District web page. We have made the decision to bring all students back to a five-day in-person schedule beginning Monday, May 3, 2021, except for those students whose families have decided to keep them at home for fully remote instruction through the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

Our Transportation Supervisor, Mr. D. Laffoon has been working on transitional bus routes with our Building Principals over the past few weeks. Students who are already receiving transportation will be automatically moved into the five-day transportation schedule. Families of students who have been fully remote and have not been contacted by their child’s school should contact the Building Principal to ensure they are on a list to ride the bus. Those who have not returned transportation requests will have a delay in bus pick up and drop off, as you have not been added to the current routing.

A member of the Transportation Office will contact you if there is a substantial difference in your child’s bus pick up or drop off times, relative to the current times. Just like the first week of school, there may be delays as the drivers work through the new schedules. Please contact the Transportation Office directly at 315-539-1515 if you have questions about your child’s transportation.

Thank you for your patience as we have continued through this challenging school year. We are looking forward to moving students from a hybrid schedule to a fully in-person schedule next week.

If you have planned to keep your child in a remote learning model for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year, you are all set to continue on in that model.

Please contact your child’s Building Principal with specific questions about your child’s return to five days of in-person instruction.

Thank you very much for your continued support as partners in your child’s learning.

Sincerely,
Terri Bavis
