Capital Improvement Project

Capital Project Work

Work underway throughout District

Waterloo High School and Waterloo Middle School have been busy places this summer.

Waterloo Central School District voters approved a $19 million Capital Improvement Project in December 2020 and work on the project began in May.

“I am very happy with the progress that has been made,” said Patrick Poirier, Director of Facilities. “A lot of work has been done and there is still a lot of work to do, but we are excited as we prepare for the start of the school year.”

Watchdog Building Partners have served as site supervisors throughout the process.

“We have been very fortunate to have them as our partners,” Poirier said.

Below are some of the highlights of the project:

  • Installation of the new roof on the High School is about 50 percent complete;
  • The Middle School gymnasium is being painted;
  • Demo in the Art and Science rooms in the high school is almost complete;
  • New curbs are being installed in the parking lot starting this week.
  • New underground water drainage tanks are being installed to slow the effects of drainage from the fields and the parking lot run off.

Paving of the parking lots is scheduled to begin the third week of August.
